RAN away from the subscriber on the night following the 24th December loft, a mulatto man slave, named Japhet, about 25 years of age, about five feet nine inches high, and trim built; had on and carried away with him three coats, one grey color'd plain cloth, one a blue coarse broadcloth, the other a strip'd nankeen; alfo, three vests, one a red parttern, one a blue plain cloth, the other calico; two check'd flannel shirts, one Holland do ruffled; a pair of short boots, a pair of thick shoes, to pair of overalls, and one caster hat. Whoever will take up said runaway, and return him to the subscriber or confine him in any goal, so that the subsscriber may have him again, shall have the above reward and necessary charges - all masters of vessels and others are forbid barboring, concealing, or carrying off said slave on penalty of the law.
