Stratford, March 2, 1785. Ran away from Ebenzer Hurd, a NEGRO MAN, about 30 years old, is short and thick set, has large legs, much pitted with small-pox, has a bald spot on his head, occasioned by a scald when young; had on and took with him when he went away, a pair of thick sole shoes, two pair of stockings, a pair of red duffil trousers, a linen jacket, a new strait bodied cloth coloured coat, a great coat halfworn, a new woolen checkt shirt, & a new felt hat. Whoever takes up and secures said Negro, so that I have him, shall recieve a GUINEA award, and all necessary charges paid by me EBENZER HURD. He stole and took away a small sum of money, and two rasors. All persons are forbid to harbor, or employ said Negro.
