RUN away from Farmington, in the State of Connecticut, (where he was stationed) on the 10th day of May instant, one John Manning, a prisoner of war, belonging to the 10th regiment in the British forces: He is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, wet set, short black hair, hath a large scar on his upper lip: Had on when he went away a soldiers red coat, the lappels and cuffs taken off, a white waistcoat, woolen shirt, a pair of long trowsers made of sulled clothltook with him some other articles of cloathing tied up in a shirt. Whoever shall take up said prisoner and bring him to the committee of prisoners in Hartford, or shall secure him in any of the goals in this State and give notice thereof to said committee, shall have Five Dollars reward, paid by BENJA. PAYNE, Chairman of said Committee. Hartford, May 13 1777.
