Ran-away from their Master, Capt. Samuel Chapman, of Tolland, on the Night of the 9th Instant, a Negro Man Servant named NEWPORT, about 40 Years of Age, of middling Stature, well set, of a light swarthy Complexion, has left the Top of one or two of his Fingers on one Hand, by the firing of Rifel: Had on when he went away, a light-colour'd Serge Coat, a Leather Jacket and Breeches, a blue Duffil Great-Coat, a streaked Flannel Shirt, and an old Beaver Hat.--Also, his Wife SARAH, an indented Servant for Life, and six Children; the three oldest Boys, named RUFUS, ISRAEL & GERSHOM; the two next Girls, named RHENA, and CHLOE; the youngest a Boy named AMOS; the oldest about 15 Yeats old, the youngest about 2 Years old. Whoever shall take up said Servants, and return them, or confine them or any of them, shall be well rewarded for their Trouble, and Twenty shillings for the Negro Man, as a Reward besides. And Masters of Vessels and others are forbid carrying off or harbouring said Servants, as they will answer it at the Peril of the Law. Nov. 20. 1769. SAMUEL CHAPMAN.
