Run-away last Monday, from the subscriber of Chatham, an Irishman between 30 and 40 years of age, of a dark complexion, wears his own dark hair, a little inclining to a curl, of a middling stature carries his head a little back, a thin face, long nose that turns up at the end. Had on a blue, coarse broad cloth coat, a red double breasted waistcoat, a pair of Philadelphia buck skin breaches very neatly made a little stain'd with tamarind juice, a sett of flower'd silver buckles, speaks broad, says he came from Kilkenny, in Ireland, had call'd his name for the year past, Luke Duin, understands making of Pot-Ash in the best manner. - He took with him a Sorrel Horse, about 13 hands and a half high, paces trots, and hand gallops, has no white about him, carries his head low, mark'd on his fore-feet E.S. with a good saddle, with red plush housing, something faded, and bound with leather. Whoever will take up and secure said run-away, in any of his majesty's goals or send him to the subscriber, with the mare and saddle shall have FIVE POUNDS reward and all necessary charges paid by ENOCH SMITH. August 26, 1768.
