120 DOLLARS REWARD
RAN away from the subscriber on Whit-Sunday, two NEGRO MEN SLAVES, named YORK and RUP; both aged about 32 years. York is about five feet nine inches high, very black, pock marked, ugly, crooked fellow; he has a small impediment in his speech, very fond of liquor, and fighting, at which he is an expert hand; he had on when he went away a half worn fur hat, a whit shirt and cravat, a short brown homespun coat, a red striped jacket, thickset broad striped pantaloons, and shoes.—Rup is about five feet five inches high, a smooth face and not quite so black as York, stow in his actions and apt to drop asleep when he takes a seat, will get intoxicated whenever he has an opportunity; he had on a fur hat, a light mixed grey homespun French coat and jacket, striped woolen trowsers, and shoes; he took with him a pair of bootees, blue coat, and some other articles of clothing. The above reward will be given to any person who will return the said runaways to their master, one mile south of Albany, or sixty dollars to lodge them in any goal and give information thereof to the subscriber, by letter or otherwise, so that he can get them again, or in that proportion for either of them.
SOL. VAN RENSSELAER
Albany. 3d June, 1806
N.B. If the said blacks will return to their master, they will be again received without being questions, as I am satisfied they have been enticed away contrary to their better judgment.
