40 DOLLARS REWARD. RAN away on the 12th instant, from his master at New-York, a Negro slave named FRANK, alias SAUSE or SOLOMON. He is about 5 feet 7 inches high; of a yellowish complexion, broad face, nose pretty flat, thick lips, a countenance habitually pleasant, and assuming a grinning smile when he is agreeably spoken to. He took with him a new suit of olive thickset pantaloons and a coat; dark brown cloth round jacket and pantaloons; several fancy vests for summer and winter; some marble colored cotton stockings; a livery glazed hat. He is a very ingenious and handy at the usual work of servants both within and out of doors. He is about 30 years old. There are good reasons to believe that he went from New-York to New-Haven, or Hartford, on his way to Boston. The above reward, together with all reasonable charges will be paid, to him who shall apprehend and safely deliver the said runaway at New York to his owner JAMES R. SMITH. 211 Pearl Street. N. B. It is probable that the above mentioned Negro went off in company with another runaway slave belonging to Mrs. Ann Wade of New-York. This latter Negro, named Robert or Bob is nearly six feet high, of a stout make; well proportioned, of a yellowish complexion, of a very handsome address and genteel manners. He had on a suit of fine black broad cloth coat and pantaloons. Whoever shall apprehend to deliver at New-York, the latter mentioned runaway to his above named Mistress will be well rewarded by her, and all reasonable charges paid. May 21.
Notes
