Whereas my wife Martha hath eloped form my house, while I was in the army, serving my country, and hath been guilty of adultery, and behaved herself in such a manner as I have reason to think she will run me in debt. These are therefore to forbid all persons trusting her on my account, as I will not pay any debt of her contrracting after this date. Seth Arnold. Farmington, March 21, 1782.
