Horse Neck, 19 November, 1779. DESERTED from Capt. Jonathan Pettibone's company, Col. Matthew Mead's regiment, about the 15th of September, John Stringer and William [Hirons], the former about 22 years of age, 6 feet high, light complexion, long red hair, refish eyes, talks some through his nose, says he belongs to Albany; the latter about 24 years olf, about 5 feet 6 inches high, shortish black hair, of a dark complexion, walks very straight, some pitted with the small pox, says he is an old countryman, and pretends to be a gold smith. Whoever will take up said deserters and return them to their regiment at Horse Neck, or secure them in any goal shall have eighty dollars reward, or 40 for either, and necessary cjharges paid by CALEB WATSON, Ens.
