RUN away from Simsbury on the 6th instant, a British soldier, named John Bates belonging to the 24th regiment, about 5 feet 6 inches high, thick-set well shaped, had a large scar on his left cheek, wore and took with him a felt hat, brown coat red waistcoat with regimental buttons, leather breeches, white stockings two checkt linnen shirts. Whoever will secure said run away in any prison and give information or bring him to Hartford, shall have 5 dollars reward and all necessary charges paid, by Ez'l. WILLIAMS, Dep. Com. Pris. May 15, 1778.
