Whereas my wife Rebeckah, being seduced by the diabolical instigation of her unnatural father and mother, viz. Jeffe Sacket and Sarah his with, hath eloped from my bed and board; and not contented with this abuse of my indulgent kindness, which she hath ever experienced, hath, not only, in concert with her said father and mother vilified my character, purloined my property, and rob'd me of one of my children; but contrary to my orders, she hath also run me greatly in debt - This is therefore to forbid all persons harbouring entertaining, or any way dealing with my said wife, or trusting her on my account, as I will pay no debts of her contracting after the date hereof, Salmon Carrinton, New-Milford, June 15, 1776.
