Cursed be he that parteth man and wife, and all the people shall say amen. WHEREAS Rhoda, my wife, hath, without just cause, taken away my bed, and deserted my board, and doth refuse to return and live with me; and as I am apprehensive that she will run me in debt, this is therefore to forbid all persons trusting, entertaining, harbouring, or having any dealings with her whatsoever, upon their peril: And I do now stand ready to receive her if she will return and behave herself towards me as becomes a wife to act to a husband; and upon this consideration I am ready to conduct myself towards her as becomes a kind and tender husband. CURTIS HALE. New-Cambridge, Feb. 2, 1776.
