Whereas Catharine my wife has without any just cause deserted my bed and board, and has secreted from me a great part of our household furniture, and has and still doth refuse to return and live with me, I do therefore strictly forbid all and every person or persons habouring her, or in any way entertaining her, or crediting her on my account, or having any deal whatsoever with her, & that as I ever have so I now stand ready to recieve her, if she will return, and provider for her to the utmost of my abilities, and in every respect deal with her as a kind and tender husband. Samuel Gridley. Farmington, July 18th, 1774.
