RUN AWAY from John Garnsey of Amenia Precinct in Dutchess County, on the 29th of May last, a Negro man named Sambo, a large well set fellow, pitted with the small pox, talks very broken, had with him a grey great coat, a light coloured vest, a pair of leather breeches, two pair stockings. Whoever shall take up said negro and bring him to me, shall have two dollars reward, and all necessary charges paid by me, John Garnsey. June 1st, 1773.
