RUN away from the subscriber the 13th instant a negro man named POMP, about 25 years old, a thick, well set fellow, about 5 feet 6 inches high, speaks quick and broken English, he has lost the first joint of his right thumb, so that the nail turns down; had on when he went away, a mix'd colour'd blue & red homemade coat, lined with blue shalloon, with yellow mettle buttons, an old brown camblet, lapell'd jacket, a pair of buckskin breeches, a pair steel plated buckles flower'd and somewhat wore, and a felt hat. Whoever will take up said negro, and return him to his master, shall have five dollars reward, and all necessary charges paid, by SAMUEL BROWN, jun. Stockbridge, Sept. 14, 1772, N.B. All masters of vessels are hereby warn'd against concealing or carrying of said negro, on their peril.
